NEWTOWN -- Funeral services for Robert William Floyd, age 58, of Carmel, Ind., a former resident of Newtown who died Sunday, June 27, in the Riverside Hospital at Noblesville were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Mr. Floyd was born June 28, 1906, in Newtown, the son of Lew and Gertrude Floyd. He was married Dec. 31, 1930 to Mildred Thomas, who survives. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and American Legion at Carmel and the Elks Lodge at Crawfordsville. He had been employed by the Indiana Bell Telephone Co. 36 years. He moved to Carmel from Crawfordsville nine years ago. He was a captain in the Army in the European Theatre in World War II. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one daughter, Caroline Sue at home, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Miller of Crawfordsville.  --typed by Walt W
